My dear friend, I love your post! Of course it stays in my blog so others can enjoy and learn from you. I'll even mention it on my facebook page as I do for my own blogs. I wish I could be more independant! I know I could if my wife was willing, she can cook and can like nobody's business but I don't blame her for wanting a 21st century life. She's a town girl. I remember pulling pigweed and lamb's quarter for our pigs when I was a kid. Don't remember reading that you have a pig. Of course, maybe you don't like pork and it's hard to butcher one on your own but they sure are good garbage dispoals! I've made myself a promise that when I retire, if I am able, I'm gonna try one year to grow and raise and hunt my own food. I've even thought of growing tobacco in a south facing gully for a pipeful or two, even though I don't smoke. I agree with you, running water and refrigerator/freezer is a must. I suppose a backup generator would be nice. Well, once I get my daughter to do some photographing for me, I will incorporate some of these thoughts in future blogs. Anyways, if, and only if, you give me your permission, I will mention your blog in my facebook page. --Gary
