African Violet Answer
Violets are really quite forgiving plants, people are just afraid of them. LOL. I use a pinch of plain old fashioned Peters fert, or Shultz from Lowes. I have my violets in a shallow tray with some aquarium gravel on the bottom to which I add room temp water once a week or so... I put about 2" of yarn (stuck in bottom of pot w/ a chopstick to shove it in) hanging into the wet gravel to "wick feed". seems to work out with my plants. I'll have to post some pics when they are blooming. :) Thanks for asking... Happy to help with any questions
