Hi there, thanks for the comments and congrats on choosing to get a dexter! We love our new girl and are excited about milking this fall. It will be a new experience for us. Do you plan to milk your dexter? As far as temperature tolerance goes... We are in the Northeast and she (and the breed as a whole) does just fine with the cold temperatures.
