My yak farm
You had left a comment on my Yak farm page and I am fairly new to the site and cannot figure out how to reply to a comment so sorry about that. I just wanted to answer your questions about Yak, My decision to raise yak was more health related in that it is a super healthy red meat in researching them I found them to serve a multitude of purposes. I started with one Yak and then quickly bought two babies one of which I bottle fed, what an interesting and smart animal. They really are sweet when handled daily, we will be harvesting fiber and dairy in the spring. We dont yoke them like oxen but are pack training the babies, they are doing well on lead ropes and are showing promise of being calm enough to show at the fair. So I hope that provides you some insight into yak, and thank you for your interest and comment!
I wanted to comment on your chickens as well, I have a number of chickens and find that my favorite is Miss Chica...lol our buff orpington! They are a great pet for kids as well as the perk of fresh eggs, we hatched some chicks and ducklings a couple of years ago the kids really enjoyed that. Your pictures are adorable!
