Hoofing Plane
My experience with "planing" goats hooves is that their hooves are generally soft. A "wood rasp plane" type hand plane (multiple cutting edges) has seemed less worthwhile with little productivity. I generally use a utility knife with a sharp blade and patiently trim the hooves. I also bought a "cheap" pair of pruning scissors at the local hardware store - to trim their hooves. Works great! the planes I tried just seemed not to work too well. Hope that helps.
