Thanks for welcoming me! Do you milk the nubians?
So do you milk the nubians? Do you make Goats Milk Soap?? Cold process soap is a great side line. Learning to make white milk soaps is a bit harder to do since milk scorches and turns the bars a tan color. So far, even with freezing, I have been unable to get a white milk soap. But it is probably because my batches go through the gel phase and that is when they turn tan. I guess I should just not wrap them up but I got tired of failed batches and went back to non milk soaps. But I did love goat milk when my brother had his herd. As long as he kept the billy away from the milkers, the cold milk tasted just as wonderful as cow's milk and I liked it better (organic, you know).

Since I am into fiber (alpaca herd!!) I am trying to keep myself from buying ANGORA goats for their mohair. I think for now I will stick to the alpacas (way too much fleece to process by hand at the moment) and just BUY the kid mohair fleeces to process. But I AM tempted!!! Maybe in my next life, nubians and angoras, goat milk soap and kid mohair yarn!!

Cheers and take care! Farm life is wonderful, even if you have to rent the farm like I do and live in the city!
