Thanks about the suggestion about the grit filter. Hubby installed on and we are going through a 6 mth old filter every 2 wks.

Feeding up in the morning is a major pain when it's rainning and P2 can't help because of his asthma and it seems when he get wet he gets sick. But rather have the rain then being in the middle of a drought.

You know, I'd started collecting the grass clippings for the animals when we cut the grass around the house. Hubby says he's going to have to get the hay mower out there in a few weeks to cut around the house. Just don't have the time to get on the lawnmower with P2 starting school, me going back to work, the 4H projects and driving from one end of Louisiana to another picking up animals. I've spent more this past month on my butt driving then anything else. Oh and the hay that's sitting on my butt and driving the tractor.

But we got a free run now and awaiting on the 7 chicks in the incubator to hatch. They should be some interesting looking babies. The moms are cooper maran and the dad is a new jersey black giant.

Now if we can only get P2's show calf up and moving to get those hooves trimmed natural we will be in good shape.
