Yesterday was a note worthy day. I actually aquired the paper work to place a bid on a piece of foreclosed property to expand my gardens. I will have the paperwork filled out and turned in by next Friday. It's pretty much a sure thing that the bid will be accepted as the previous owner hasn't paid the taxes for 11 years and has a lien of $1500 on the property for city weed removal. The property now hasn't seen weed removal for years. There are vines, weeds, fallen trees, and scrub brush trees covering the entire property. It will be quite a challenge to clean up the property to allow gardens there. As soon as the bid is excepted I'll start the cleanup as it will take almost three months to actually get the deed free and clear. The city will clear all the back taxes and liens, so when I get the deed it will be free and clear. The taxes for this property will be $11 a year. I certainly think I can afford that.
