The ground is wet aint looking forward to what we will be blessed in summer weather. Hot & Dry.

Lost a brooder due to the t-storms. Hoping to get in there and remove the run from it and see if we can fix or replace the entire thing. Sure would be nice if we can just replace the north side of it and get another year out of it.

Will be taken the lower 3 boars out of Rose's litter to the vet in the morning. My hand is still not up to snuffy and I pushed it yesterday cleaning the shelter for the goats.

Amy's litter is making it. Moved the heat lamp up while I'm away at work. Amy is still aggressive and I feel she might need to go in 21 days. Since she has mainly males, the vet will come out to our place next Thrs to help castrate and give 1st shots. Don't think I'm ear notiching this litter, they are all so different except for the twins (1 has a set of wattles and the other dosent). The litter looks healthy except for the one that got cut on the back. The cut is too small for Amy to have done it, I think 1 of the other piglets did when they scrape for tets.

Mr. Larry dropped off Chansey and stayed for a few minutes.

Piglets got their booster shots over the weekend.

Chansey was let out for the 1st time Sunday AM with a leash. She did well but Pichu the herd leader. Picked them up and turn out again that PM. Chansey was let out without the leash and they went to work on the fresh growth on the the black berry bushes. Now I got free weed eaters for the woods. They don't like the clover like the cattle.

Amy may be a wk or 2 from delivering.

Well sheep gone, but he left behind "barbers pole eggs" on the pasture or what is left of it so it has to sit for a season before we can run anything on it otherwise it will kick start and affect any new animals we put on. We are also out of pocket by around 20K. he was not paying any agistment and would not shift his sheep either....a
any way finally he has gone, but left a trail of destruction...he was not registered with the Ag Dept either, so who knows what he is capable of ........

now the workman is gone I have a bit more to do but once I get on top of it i should be fine.

It was just a pity some of the work was not up to standard like the pig hut roofs, but the next one is back on thank goodness to day and it took me nearly a day to complete

been going weekly with pigs......and can only take a few as they are so heavy......Put two browns away today see what they give in a day or so and got a few more in my weigh shed to put away tomorrow

Dorito, isn't doing to good. Since she's the runt of Rose's litter she got the very short end of the stick when it comes to feedings. P2 has tried several times to bottle feed and she refuses the bottle. As long as we can keep her warm she's still going.

Went to the coop and purchase a bottle of B-complex to give her a shot per day for 5 days. To see if this will give her a boost.

Time will tell.

Nothing like bagging up to go and get the little ones all warmed up. Man the sleet came and covered EVERYTHING! P2, Aggron & Cyndaquil got 3 bails of hay to the pig pens. Busted them up and we did the wait and see if they'll make it. Got a path worn down from the yard gate to the west gate on the pig pen.

Well Rose can't be too hot in this weather, don't know about her litter.

Cant castrated with a cast on mu hand. Oh what fun? NOT.

Mist/Rain is here, still no babies, if I could swing it I would cut her meals in 1/2 and feed her 3 times a day. But with P2 at school and I'm working, I don't think this would happen.

Aggron and P2 walked the width of the heifer field and he's jumping so he must be getting over the pain of being banded.

Cyndaquil is still having junk in the eye issues and their isn't nothing I can do about it until the weather stays steady. I need to get the hay out of his shelter, but with a broke hand and it being wet it hard.

Spring will be hear and you know they say, a wet winter is a dry summer for us, aint looking forward to 100*F weather in Louisiana.

P2 took Rose's water tub out of her pen just encase she did deliver last night. No babies this morning, but her heavy breathing is still there. No signs of pushing and no mucus. Hoping she'll hold off till this Friday since he has Mardia Gras Holiday coming up.

Loaded up all the show bulls and moved them to their new home without nose ring or halter. Got a repreive from feeding. P2 has picked out 4 newborns so them and their moms will be taken out of the herd and brought to our house to feed out, halter break and start the entire process all over again.

Well fog, heat & walking doesn't do someone in a cast any good. But things got to be done. P2 been stepping in where he can. But he now knows just how much I do without his help when his asthma got him down.

Will find out how bad my hand looks like after they cut the cast off on Friday.

Rose's breathing rythm has changed wondering if just how long she got left before the babies want out. Would like to see her udder line fuller, but then again Amy did the same thing as a 1st time gilt delivering babies.

Cyndaquil will get his 2nd shot today rain or sunshine. P2 will just have to carry him to the house if it rains. We think he has pneomnia because he and Aggron were away at my Ma-Maw and Pa-Paw's house while P2 showed his livestock for District and State Jr. Livestock Shows. Ma-Maw said he would tear up a bottle nipple and so she would get him to drink from the pitcher. He was so hungray one morning that he inhauled his milk and could not catch his breath. So he must have liquid (milk) in his lungs.

Took him and Aggron out for a walk yesterday afternoon. Cyndaquil kept up with the goat. But to make sure his over the worse, we are giving him another shot. Don't need a relasp and with this weather it may turn cold again.

Can spring get her sooner?

Rose missed the 15th due date, which is great since I'm in a cast and we were away for P2 to show. No milk in her udder but the babies have dropped. She swelling and unswelling in the back. Maybe the 24th of Feb will be her due date.

P2 is itching for more babies.

Ideal order wont come in until May because we don't want several shipments and maybe the weather will be settled by then and we can use the outside brooder.

Friday I will go see about my hand.
