  Bad momma goats
I had a few pregnant momma goats recently (week between Xmas and New year) and all gave birth and refuse their youngins. Wouldn't nurse them or anything. Just drop them and left them to freeze over night. Anyone got any idea? Only one of them was a new mother. They previous birthing cycle they were all good mommas.

  Chickens from RailRidge
I suggest you bake a lot - or sell them to neighbors. I have a few friends I sell a dozen to for $1. Not about making money just defraying a little winter time feed costs.

I grew up in Rockford; but lived in the city, not on a farm. I'm soooo glad not to be living the city life anymore! I was in town today (closest one is about 15,000 pop.) and was aggravated with the "traffic" the whole time....! Ha. I love my quiet country roads.

  Thanks for the post.
Thank you for the comments. I do enjoy our place. All the walkways you commented on in the back between the buildings is a regulation skeet field. I like the look of your home I imagine it has so much character and your property looks great. Any pics of your barns?

I haven't paid any attention to this since I created. I promise to do better. I have been working on the inside of the house and will post pix this week. Lost a goat last month, but her kid was old enough to get along. Got a couple that will be sold (hopefully) in 60 days. They grow so fast.
