Organized not on our place. LOL
Hi.

No, we are not that organized it's just great when the place and ideals are handed down to you from one generation to another and hopefully P2 will be able to keep it going when he's grown up.

Come visit me, The Homestead.

  First Chicken Butchering Today
I don't think we'll do that again for a while, or at least I will be abstaining from helping/doing it until my pregnancy is over!

Unfortunately it is so darn hot here that as the chicken drained, it's meat spoiled. This is a real bummer. I feel better being that it was our first time ever doing this, but sad the creature went to waste.

It was hard to sleep also knowing that we would be killing one of our birds the next day, so I was quite tired at the same time. I think I will stick to caring for the chickens (particularly the hens) and starting our crops.

Plucking is a pain in the BUTT! As well as butchering.

Looking forward to the Garden and fresh eggs soon!!!

Thanks for all the comments everybody. I have to give the picture credit to my sister, it really is lovely.

Come visit me, Crazy W Ranch.

  Substantial Changes
Our lives are changing fast and so is the economy, in order to make our home more sustainable we are beginning production of our own foods. We will be planting and rotating crops beginneing soon, as well as butchering chickens, and using our own hen's eggs instead of purchasing.

We are Very excited!

Come visit me, Crazy W Ranch.
