bees and chickens Would love to read more about your bees and chickens! We only moved "out to the country" three years ago, so are still pretty new to all this. However, we added chickens that very first year and now have 2 mules and 4 goats as well!!! I'd LOVE to have bees, but hubby hates flyin'-buzzin' things... I figure we've got 40 acres, so I can find an out-of-the-way spot for a couple of hives some day!!! More photos would be great, too!Come visit me, Dancing Moon Farmstead.

colony collapse I saw such a sad show yesterday on Planet Earth called 'The Last Beekeeper'. It was so sad watching people lose their livlihood. A lot of it was about the California almond crop & how important it is financially to beekeepers, but also how it may be stressing the bees too much. It is a good show for people concerned about the health of bees.Come visit me, wendy's way.

Love the bee hive! I just read the article that they had in the Urban Farm Magazine about bee keeping and I'm really stoked about it. I would love to be able to get my own honey. How much honey do you usually get in a given year? Come visit me, Up in Apopka.

Greetings Hey all, Just getting started here. Actually went to a blacksmithing class today, and it looks ok. the folks I talked to seem pretty nice, and many are interested in being self sufficient. Great to see a community out there. Not many pics to add, but off to the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival tomorrow, maybe i will come up with some interesting photos. Hopefully as things with the economy recover I will have more opportunities to really get things going.Come visit me, Victory Gardens.
