Thanks for visiting. You've got some nice looking bunnies there. How many acres are you farming? We're trying four alpacas (three of which are pregnant) on a one acre pasture and I'll be opening more in the spring. We have five acres that we are trasitioning from residential to agricultural. We are new to farming but so far have found it to be very rewarding. But then again hard work always is. Good motto, you can't go wrong with inspiration taken right from the word of God. Bless you and your farm. Talk to you soon. P.S. You said your barn looks similar to ours. You should post some pictures of it. We'd like to see it.Come visit me, Purdy lil' Suri Alpaca Farm.

Thanks for visiting! Glad you could meet our goats =) Love your bunny picture! Your rabbit looks HUGE compared to ours, but ours is just 4 1/2 weeks old, so it's to be expected. We can't wait for her to get big enough to hold her own a bit with the other animals--right now she seems so fragile.Come visit me, Browns' Windy Acres & The Goats of Browns' Windy Acres.

Thanks for stopping by the farm please come again Right now the farm is in a clean up mode. I let the pasture grow up so I would attract rabbits to run my beagles. I used to trial beagles but there wasn't any money to be made and was spending a whole lot in dog food, housing, entry fees, travel, and vet bills. It became a lost cause so I sold most of my beagles or gave them away to good homes. Now I want to convert my 2 to 3 acre property into a self sufficient off the grid profitable farm, but will need a lot of help because I have never farmed before so any help would be appreciated. More pics will come later to help you guys give me ideas. Thanks againCome visit me, Pure Country.

Thanks for the update.Glad to hear you were not hit by this awful storm of tornadoes. I will try to remember to ask later at the end of summer about the feathers,it would be nice to have some. I did get some starter plants put in,my husband got one of my boxes done,I had to buy some fill compost to fill them, but I won't need to do that again next year,so I'm glad I can afford to do it now.I also started some seeds in containers so I can get them going ahead of planting them directly in the garden.I'm going to try to grow artichokes this year,I like that they come back each year, and I love to eat them. I stll need to research what breeds of chickens I want to raise, but I have time as our chicken coop is in the planning stage yet.Our weather is still a little too cool at night to plant seeds, but I think we are getting close. It will give my husband time to catch up with me in all my plans for this summer,he wll be busy!HAHA. Nice to hear from you and have a great week!Come visit me, Fruitdale Farm.

Hello, I was wondering how you are? I have been thinking about all of you ones who live in states where the tornadoes have hit so hard. Hopefully you are okay, and just busy with your farm activities. We still have unusaul snow and amount of rain to contend with and so the gardening is a slow, slow process. My husband started one of my boxes, but we need more lumber to finish, but we can't put anything out yet,so oh well.....Eventually summer does have to come.Doesn't it??????? Do you ever sell your peacock feathers? I was wanting to get some for my living room and I just now remembered that you have peacocks.Did your peahen ever show back up? If you do sell them,I'll give you my address and some money, and you can send me some Feathers,I think they are so beautiful. So for now,I hope you and yours are all okay.I will wait to hear from you in the future.Come visit me, Fruitdale Farm.

Thanks for the welcome.I'm trying to learn all the ins and outs of the blogging thing.I really am enjoying it though. It's fun to get in touch with others with the same interests. I don't know what state you live in,we are in Wa. and the forcast is just rain, but so many other states have storm watches, snow, rain, hurricanes.I guess I'm not to complain too much about the rain. I hope this bad weather that is coming in the next few days bypasses you and your farm.Come visit me, Fruitdale Farm.

Your picture is so adorable.I love Bunnies, Thanks for you comment.I like that scripture too. Further in the verses,God tells Adam and Eve that they are to be the caretakers of the earth and all the creatures. Is that not a wonderful assignment? Maybe that is why so many of us do like to farm, and love animals so much.we were created in his image,so God must love to see things grow and see the earth cultivated, and he must love all of his creation, down to even the smallest o creatures, for he made so many ,and so many varieties to enjoy.Just for us.What a wonderful creator.Come visit me, Fruitdale Farm.

Your motto I love your motto! I have an English Angora rabbit. He is my first livestock animal and an experiment to see if I can successfully raise Angoras as fibre pets. Once I have the space I would like to get some Buff Orpingtons for eggs and meat. I really like the look of them. Blessings, TeresaCome visit me, Promised Land Homestead.

Just catching up Been out of the loop for a while, where did December go? Thanks for the info on the bats, other readers have suggested bat houses as well, but it sounds like if the bats are comfortable where they are they are not moving. The bats are in the upper most rafters of an old hay loft barn out of reach of most predators including human. I have thought of smoking them out in the spring but I don't think that is legal. Oh well something will come up. Looking though seed catalogs and starting to plan my garden. First year in many I will actually have more than a few rows. All for now, have a blessed new yearCome visit me, HOWELL.

Raccoon Hollow We are moving the farm to a bigger place. Our current property is near the city's small airport and they say a plane could land on us. So we now have more land. For the move we have gotten rid of most of the animals for a short time. We usually raise Silkies, Araucana, Old English Reds, Buff Orpington and several others. Most are raised for 4-H and the Fair. We also raise rabbits. We like Lionheads, Dwarf Netherlands and had one great white meat rabbit until the neighbor's dogs paid a visit. We also hand raise baby goats to be used as pets, have dogs and cats and the boys have any number of critters.Come visit me, Raccoon Hollow.

Thanks for visiting Howell Farm Your place sounds great judging by all the comments in your blog! Continued good luck with your farm critters. Are you raising them for market, eating or as pets? I would like to raise some meat rabbits but not sure what type I should start with, any suggestions? Also any suggestions on how to get rid of bats in the hay loft of my barn? I know they help keep the bugs down, especially with my pond close by the barn. But the mess the bats make makes the loft useless until I get them to move. I have read about bat houses but don't know how many or where to locate them. Any suggestions? Thanks again for visiting.Come visit me, HOWELL.

I actually had only a couple just to keep and see if I wanted to keep raising them. I got them for free and I don't know what types there are, but they all died from the eagles and hawks around. I know, you might think I'm not a good owner, but it was from heart attacks. The hawks were watching them and got too close. I might get more to breed and show. Sorry for the looooong story about the rabbits. Come visit me, One Acre Wonders( Farm in Progress).
