Farm Name: Squid Inc Farm

Year Farm Established: 2009

Location: Beaver Creek- Port Alberni, BC

Years I’ve been farming: 6 years

Animals I raise: Chickens and Goats

Crops I grow: Tomatoes,Basil, Oregano, Mint, jerusalem artichokes,stra- wberries and far too many himalayan blackberries for my liking. Corn,Potatoes,L- eeks,sunflowers- ,

Hobbies I enjoy: Fishing on the river (coho, chinook, sockeye and steelhead)and audio mixing

The proudest moment on my farm: Having my first omelette compliments of my ladies. A close second was entering the chicken races at the Coombs fair with my handicapped hen, Fitzy and my 10 yr old neice beaming with joy when she was made the official "handler"

Pets: Ranger the Shitzu, Stryder the Golden Retriever, Riley, Smoke and Ash (the fierce mouse hunting cats) and the big old black bear that lives down by the river and eats my plums. He thinks this is his place

Farm Motto: Work is love made visible. And if you can't work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of the people who work with joy.
