That is a disadvandage for us. If we take a few does to a show we have to take the kids. Our Boer kids have started running around out of the pen. The does hate, but the kids love it. Some have learned to herd the ducks and chickens. Our dog becomes the play structure now. When they see him asleep they run and jump on him. At least he dosen't hurt them. The one Boer doe is crawling through a tiny hole in the back of the LaMancha shed and getting in with them. After they spend the whole day hitting her you think she wouldn't go in, but she does. Have a great day!

That must have been a long drive. We do the same thing every year. As my daughter is pulling kids from a doe in -12 weather we think the same thing. Our goats end up on the porch when it's cold. Our does are hudge! The one that's due in April looks like she'll kid tomorrow, and she's only a two year old. Hopefully she'll have enough milk. Do you bottle raise or dam raise. We dam raise and the kids aren't wild, and then we don't have to milk the does till we wean. Keep warm!

That's pretty good with your goats. When the National Show comes to Ft.Collins we'll show there. We have all South Fork blood lines, so hopefully we won't get smoked. Our one doe was champion LaMancha jr. doe, but freshened bad, she looks better this year so hopefully she does better. When do you start kidding? We kid in March and April, but some people we've talked to start in Febuary. Have a great day!

Can you take me through the steps after miliking the goat? Do you put the milk through a heat cycle before you put the milk into the icebox?

Thanks for the info will take a look. P2 want start showing anything until next school year, so we have time to check things out and see what needs to go in a show box and all that good stuff.

Do you store your milk in a glass jar or a plastic one?

Friday we went to see the animals get prep for the jr livestock show. P2 was given a card to call if he wants to show boar goats when he starts 4th grade.

How hard is it to raise them? How much money have you invested in showing them? What kind of equipment do you need besides the clippers?

Where can we go to get more information on showing goats?

Thanks a bunch.

  Dairy goats
I have two nubian girls that i purchased in the fall, they haven't been bred in a couple of years and I hoped to have bred them last month. How long does it take a dairy goat's milk to start coming down if she is bred? This is our first time with dairy goats and I am super excited!!

You make yogart of that sounds oh so good. Do you flavore it?

I know you said that you show, do you have any kids that show, too?

Would you rather goat's milk over cow? I tried to put out an ad where we live for some fresh goat's milk, but the only person that answered it lived to far to out.

Well I got to get P2 to school.

Have a great weekend.

What a beautiful butterfuly. Do you put out anything special for them? We take the tops off the mineral tubs and put wood in them and fill the tops with water so the bees and the butterflies have something shallow to drink clean water in. We also put out old towels on the rabbit hutch and spry them with water and during summer months we see lunar moths in the evening.

Do you show your goats?

What do make anything with the milk?

Welcome
