It's not that organized...LOL...but when you start walking from point A to Z you find ways to keep it to a min. But I do have to say the pigs are just at the right spot. Down wind from the house and in the shade. Don't know how they'll do once the pecean trees lose their leaves, maybe it will be cooler.:-)

the county bought the land behind us and are planning more buldingd later there is about 200 acres ajoining the parcel . i guess that means that the city limits will be moved again and we will be in the city with all kinds of restrictions , at this point we really cant afford to move unless god send a mircale our way, we have grew up on farms and last year when my husband had back surgery i decided it was time to make our land work for us instead of getting a second job we have allway grew our own crops for our use but last year after friends suggested i sould be selling my access instead of giving them away i started really making plans and renovating things for a hobby farm , but after this news i don't know where to continue with the plans for my green house and root cellar, when we moved in 20 years ago there were nothing around us but now walmart is 1/2 mile away when they built walmart last year they move the city limits, thats why i expect them to do it again.

  very disappointed today
we found out the new county jail is going in our back yard no one was asked our input on the decision, but we have been wanting to expand so we can grow and do more with our small little farm ,so maybe there will be a chance to get a bigger plot out more in the country part of the county.i hope this don't mean we can't have our chickens and other animails because our pens and lots were there first.
