  Hello!
My pullets are big enough to hold their own with the hens, now. I'm planning to move them all into the new coop next weekend. They all were happy to get over ripe zucchini today. Of course the rooster had to get the first bite!

Well P2 will be showing Ruby (3/4 red wattle and 1/4 hampshire) first and then Summer (PB Polle Hereford Heifer). I posted weights. He was going to put in a mating pair of Speckled Susses (sp?) (oh so tired from washing the crew). But Old Battle Ax Carmen put an end to P2's SS Roo. He's got eggs to go in the fair, bird house, magnets and a decorated cake.

Well maybe try putting a litter box for her somewhere shes familiar with and feed her after she uses it! LOL I love my animals they make me smile every day! Somehow yesterday we managed to adopt another dog. My sister got a chow/lab mix puppy and she's too lazy to train him or take him out....So my Gma made her get rid of him so to our house he came....( Sis rents from my Gma) He must get fixed though...I have 2 German Shep pups that I plan on breeding...I don't want him ruining my female! But he is a cute and loving dog and he's still young so very trainable.

  Dua - the house chicken
Of our current chicken flock we have one young Rhode Island Hen (she was born this past Feb.) who escapes from the chicken yard everyday because she'd rather be around people than other chickens. When I'm outside working she follows me around like a dog. Will ride in the wheel barrow and now comes running when she sees I'm going into the house so she can follow me right in. Yesterday she found a dish of cat food in the kitchen and helped herself. Too bad chickens can't be housebroken as I think it would be a hoot to have a chicken for a house pet. Perhaps I could make her a diaper.

LOL Love the pic!!! Looks like my house only we get followed by ducks, goats, dogs, and chickens....Last week my boys were getting off the school bus and as soon as "mouth" ( our loudest female duck ) started hooting and hollering next thing ya know she flew the coop and straight down the driveway to the boys she went! They know when the boys get home its dinner time.

Well for two winters in a row we had snow that stayed for a while. Last winter was BAD by our standards. We got a total of three different snow falls that lasted for a day and THEN there was the week from down under to speak. It did not get above the 30's during the day and went in the teens at night with the artic jet stream. I busted ice three times a day for the animals and then still had trouble with the faucets blow off. Not a week I would like to repeat...LOL...

Our 9 yr old just loves the chicken train you've got going on behind you. He sold 8 hens, 2 pullets and had a hatch out in the incubator this week. He also lost "V" his black sex link pullet from an egg busting inside of her. So on our next order we will have to get just another black sex link for him. That's why I love to order from Ideal, I can order as few or as many of one breed we would like. But I think he's getting the egg hatching down pat now. He had 14 to break out in one day and that's his best record yet. But then again this is the first time he has put 2 dz eggs in the incubator at one time. It's been 4 or 5 when he able to trade for them.

I hope you all have a great weekend. Next week want be on because our son will have his show animals at the fair.

  What fun
I was so pleased and surprised to open my email this morning and find that folks had already visited our new listing here on our Hobby Farm site. And additional fun to have them be from very different parts of the country and farming in very different ways. Thanks for visiting.
