Welcome I also raised four,plus hubby... We had chickens,but after the mink got in the hen house which was built good,on rock and wire under ground,it just dug underneath for awhile,till I notice the hole and boarded it up but I locked the mink inside that night,I managed to save about 9 out of 15.This year,going to build a cement house with another good run,with guard dogs. Good luck raising that husband. My 4 kids were eazier. Love your pretty chicken. I have a mix of them. All brown egg layers. Eggs are slow at this point. Temp this a.m. 5....Burr Come visit me, Pattys Pampered Pets.
