RE: Riverbluff Farm
I used to milk, when I showed as a 4H'er. I'd bottle-feed the kids, milk the does, and show everybody at the fair. But, once I went away to college, I let the does nurse the kids, so that my partner in goat mischief (Mom) wouldn't have quite so much to do while I was gone. I do milk them out if the kids aren't keeping the does nursed down in the beginning, or when I'm trying to dry them off.
I recently found a recipe for some very lovely goat milk caramels, that works with milk that has been frozen, then thawed, that I plan on making for Christmas presents next year.Come visit me, MTH Farm.

Kids in the photo
Thank you for the comments on my adorable goat kids. This picture was taken last spring, when they were about 2 weeks old...amazing to see how much they've grown since then. I'm anxiously awaiting the new batch of kids, due mid-March.Come visit me, MTH Farm.
