The Bamboo Jungle N Gardens from prattville, AL
The Bamboo Jungle N Gardens

Farm Name: The Bamboo Jungle N Gardens

Year Farm Established: 1988

Location: Southern, AL

Years I’ve been farming: 26 years

Animals I raise: Used to raise chickens but ill health and age have forced me to cut back. Now just keep farm raised fish pond and our bunny/worm compost system going.

Crops I grow: Many vegetables, Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, Figs, Muscadines, Bamboo

Hobbies I enjoy: Gardening, mosaics, reading.

The proudest moment on my farm: When my Moso bamboo grew to thirty feet and six inch diameter culms.

Pets: three rescue dogs and three rescue cats.

Farm Motto: Make your words soft and sweet; you just may have to eat them someday.

Thank you for dropping by! We do harvest some of our boo for projects around our homestead. Digging bamboo is a very labor intensive job and we are in our 60's and seldom sell it anymore. This is an exciting season for us as we have about three species shooting right now so every day is like Christmas! ;-)

I love Peafowl and have always wanted to have a pair but too many coyotes and wild dogs in our area to do so. :-(

Come visit me, The Bamboo Jungle N Gardens.

  Good Morning
That's some large bamboo! Do you harvest and build with it, or sell?
