Our pasture has been invaded! It's becoming a daily battle to keep the mushrooms away. We've had so much rain that they keep popping up. I'm afraid they will make my woolies sick. Anyone have any ideas? Come visit me, LuckyEwe Farm.

pickling more beets tonight. Has anyone tried giving sheep beet pulp? I've seen in several of my books and on line as an additional food source. They even sell it in huge bags at the feed store. Wondering if my babies would like it. Come visit me, LuckyEwe Farm.

Spinning & Woolly Stuff Hi, Sorry that it took so long for my reply ....planting time here and the weather has been rough on us. Anyway..spinning is fun, I started by taking a class. Our instructor said to spin every day for 45 minutes the first week. NO matter what your beginning yarn looks like, if you practice every day you will get good at it. I process my own wool, washing it and drying it on nice days. Also, it is really worth it to invest in a drum carder. My best advise practice, practice and in no time you'll have nice yarn to work with. Take care! MaryanneCome visit me, Wild & Wooly Acres.

Thanks for your comments I have lots of plans. Most of them are on my other farm page. I have My Wyomng Home, Santa Sara Ranch and Santa Sara Ranch (Coming Soon). My plans are all on the Santa Sara Ranch page. My hope is to be up there by the end of the year. I moved to Co for Fl last year to be closer to my property and it's too much to handle. Close enough to visit on the weekends and close enough to make me want to be there FULL TIME even more. Made some great friends up there and want to be closer to them as well.Come visit me, My Wyoming Home, Santa Sara Ranch, WyoCowgirl's Santa Sara Ranch & Santa Sara Ranch (Coming Soon).

Not many shepherds Mopple here. There aren't a lot of wool sheep here in the southern Ozarks, either. There are quite a few hair sheep, though. It's pretty hot for wool sheep and hard to find someone to shear them. The man who shears my sheepy friends travels all over the United States to shear. I am the only all hair sheep here. Old Angel is half Wiltshire Horn and half something else, so if she isn't shorn, her fleece starts coming off. But some spots hang on and she looks pretty raggedy, so Mom has the shearer shear her. Love, MoppleCome visit me, Mopple's Place.

HI Welcome to my blog...webpage. We are a small farm, 6 Jacob Ewes and 2 Rams. They are such joys. I never really understood the word peace until I sat under a shade tree listening to their soft baas and watching the lambs play alongside their moms. I'd love to hear from other shepherds. There are not many in North Carolina...but we hope to change that.Come visit me, LuckyEwe Farm.
