MY FARM

Spirit Dance Farm from La Veta, CO
Spirit Dance Farm

Farm Name: Spirit Dance Farm

Year Farm Established: 2005

Location: La Veta, CO

Years I’ve been farming: 8 years

Animals I raise: Chickens, geese, horses

Crops I grow: We have a vineyard where we grow Leon Millot grapes, several heritage variaties of apples plus we grow and assortment of other produce that feeds us and supplies us with the necessary ingrdients to make wine.

Hobbies I enjoy: I enjoy spinning, weaving, crocheting, cooking and candy making and we both enjoy wine making.

Club/Associations memberships: Huerfano Beekeepers Association, Dales Pony Association of North American

The proudest moment on my farm: There have been several but I guess the biggest would be completing the chicken house two years ago built primarily from recycled lumber we salvaged from an old landmark restaurant in the area that had been torn down.

Pets: A Tibetan Mastiff, a standard poodle, a Cocker Spaniel, a Yorkshire terrier, 4 rescue cats, a blue-streaked lory and a bronze-winged pionus

Farm Motto: Use it up, wear it out, make do or do without.

LOL...about up loading more pics once everything is green. We are marching closer and closer to summer in Louisiana and everything is burnt unless you are to close to the Mississippi river and you are underwater.

Have a great weekend.

Come visit me, The Homestead.
