  SQUASH...
Well, last year some of my squash plants DID have squash bug problems...but that was my first time growing them. I've read that row covers are good deterants so I think I will try that this year. I'm trying to use little or no insecticides if possible. Do you have any personal experience or suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for visiting my page!

We have some leghorn/RI Red crosses who are GREAT egg layers, just as regular as can be during the summer. However, they are about as smart as your average turnip. You should probably ask around on some forums to get the best advice. I am on Back Yard CHickens forum. They are really helpful and nice over there.

If we are kinds of neighbors....like how close

Got some November 2011 born Barred Plymouth Rock Pullets that our 4H(er) is selling. $10 a piece for the pullets and $5 for the roo.

Circle T (talk with Rita and see what her mom has for sale) and Magee Feed get some day old chicks in around Easter.

Check out the Louisiana Market Bulletin

There is a feed store in Walker, LA that has some chicks it's name is Friendly I think

But if you live around our neck of the woods talking with Rita to see what her mom has on hand is the better bet.

Good luck!

Hi! Thanks for the welcome. My boyfriend's family use to have a lot of cattle when they had their dairy farm. Now we are in the process of getting chickens and rabbits. I want to get a miniature cow, but I haven't done all of my research. Your pictures of your place are beautiful!
