  Follow me
When the weather is nice I take the ducks from the sunroom down to the pond. First I pick them each up at of the kiddie pool I then heard them from behind into the family room, around the couch and out the front door, down a step at out into the yard. From there they will follow me down to the pond.

I sit with them while they play on the edge of the pond. After awhile I take them to their outdoor coop to leave them for the day. I still bring them in at night as they are only 5 weeks old.

Another nice day in Ohio so I took the ducks down to the pond. They love it but stay on the edge. Two mallards came within 2 feet of my ducks to check them out. They stayed awhile but my ducks didn't pay much attention. They were having to much fun in the water. They are starting to quack now!

I am so glad they can be outside more now as they are so smelly inside our sun room!

  Angel Wing
My peking duck is 4 weeks old. Her wing was bloody and sticking out. First I took her to the bath tub to wash up her wing. Next I headed for my computer. Yep, it's common and it's called Angel Wing. It says this is not a health problem and that you can fix it. So I do as they suggest. I get medical wrap that sticks to itself. It cost me $1.99. My husband held Snow while I tucked her wing and wrapped the "tape" around her body and over her wing. We put her down and she fell over, struggled and rolled on her back. I felt awful for her but withing a few minutes she mastered walking without her wings. I put her back in the kiddie pool, with straw, and her friends. She was just fine. I rewrapped her in the morning and gave her time with the wrap off so she could stretch her wings. By the end of day two her wing was tucked and doing fine. We fixed Snow's angel wing!

  Duck Duck Goose
I have 5 ducks and one goose who are a month old now. Boy they weren't kidding when they said ducks and messy compared to chickens! I am currently keeping them in a kiddie pool (with straw) in our sun room with a heat lamp. Today it is 70* so I walked them down to the pond. I love how they follow me the whole way. I sit in the grass and the ducks & goose play on the edge of the pond. After they play I walk them back to what will be the coop at night. It is very windy today but I think they still like being outside. I like it because it's less mess for me to clean up!

  Loving Country Living
I grew up in the suburbs but every year we went to Texas and stayed 3 weeks on my Grandfathers Farm. I was in heaven. We tamed the farm cats, swam in his pool, gather eggs from the chickens and road the shetland pony. My grandfather loved birds. He had chickens with fancy tail feathers, doves, ducks and lots more I don't know that names of.

I am 52 years old and finally moved to 5 acres (last June)with woods behinds us, a line of pine trees on one side and a line of Oak trees down the other. We also have a pond in the back.

I breed Labrador retrievers and now have 11 dogs (9 breeding dogs) We have every color Labrador available. Silver, Charcoal, Champagne, Fox Red, White, Yellow & Chocolate. We don't own a black lab but we can produce them.

Our dogs do not live in kennels. I converted the attached garage when we moved here. The doggy den looks like a family room with a futon, day bed and double wide chair for the dogs. My computer is out here. I spend the majority of my day with the dogs. Cleaning, training, playing and loving on them. Our website is www.SilverRainLabradors.shutterfly.com if you want to check us out.
