Garden Progress
From May 22 to June 8 planted two rows of corn, one row of sugar snap peas, one row of carrots, 6 tomatoes, 5 green peppers and 1 zucchini. Cool, wet weather for two weeks from start slowed and stunted some growth. When weather warmed everything bounced back and small harvest was a success. Planted less than 1/4 of total garden space and solarized the rest to curb weed growth.Come visit me, Hoodies Acre... and a half.

Next Rabbit Litter
Bred same doe and buck again in August. New litter was Born Sep. 1 with a count of six, much better. The flemish cross bunny is now six months old and dwarfs my adult New Zealands, shes huge.Come visit me, Hoodies Acre... and a half.

Garden
Around mid-May my friend from up the road came by with his tractor and tiller. We spent the afternoon tilling, adding horse manure and tilling again. End result... a 50'x50' tilled garden plot. My brother-in-law also came through with a flatbed truck packed high with scrap lumber from a renovation he did. That lumber will be used to put in the raised beds.Come visit me, Hoodies Acre... and a half.

Yeah, I did the design myself including the roof trusses that I had to have the local building inspector approve. With the help of some friends and relatives, we put it up in a weekend (not including the metal roofing, we did that the next weekend). It's not big, just 12' x 24' but works great for the alpacas. The barn quilt on the end is a loft door. I had 40 bales up there this winter. I put in a pull-down ladder to get to the loft from the inside. There are double doors on the other side and a window on the opposite end. All the doors are dutch doors and I open the tops to provide lots of air flow. Since those pictures were taken I have added a cover over the doors for more protection from the weather. I will try and post a new picture soon.Come visit me, Purdy lil' Suri Alpaca Farm.

Baby Count
The new bunnies are about a month old now. Ended up with a count of 4. Pretty low but the buck and doe are around five years old and this is the first litter in at least two years. We'll see what happens with the next bunch.Come visit me, Hoodies Acre... and a half.
