Now that is a picture of a broody hen if I've ever seen one! I love buff orpingtons, one of my favorite breeds, and great mothers might I add!

  the goat
hello Heather, Deanna here , yes, ha ha, that was some beads my daughter put on her goat playing around. In 2006 we got to go out west and went through Cody. We loved it out there.I see you grow tomatillos, I was just reading in my Hobby Farm Home about them. Never had one myself, thought it might be neat to try them.We are in southeast Georgia, tomatoes grow good here.It gets stinking hot here, can tomatillas stand the heat?

Hi, No, not yet. They are scarce around here. I did just get 3 new hens, One Austrolorp, One golden coment, and one Aracauna. They are about six months old. I am going to order some Houdans in the spring so they will be able to spend the warmer months growing into adult birds. I will deff report back.:) Thanks for inquiring back. Have a great farming day.

Yep once you get chickens you always want more (Chickens are like potato chips you cant just have one...). our favorite critters are our turkeys, they are similar to chickens just it seems they have imprinted on us. They also eat 100+ Japanese beetles (per bird!) a day!

It is very peaceful - until the guineas start their racket. But they are by far better than heavy city traffic! Thanks for your kind comment.
