Such great pics! Maybe we'll get a cow or two someday... How exciting to have to calves born! I happened to be at a friends one day when she was surprised with a bunch of baby goats! Only one baby was expected but that one baby turned out to be four beautiful little goats!
Have a great day!

  New to Our Farm
Two new Ayrshires calves arrived, early Christmas, yesterday! Little Beauties, Annabelle and Mable. Adjusting very well to a new barn and bucket feeding as, long as they can suck fingers, instead of bottles. Oh how I love little calves, just the sweetest looking faces! LOL

New black and white holstein calf born 7/17. Our Son has named him Tank. He's built just like his mom, Twizzler so he thought the name was fitting. Arriving at just about 100lbs. I agree! All are doing well including Twizz's farm buddies who were axiously awaiting the new arrival. Life as we know it has settled back to normal with the exception of Alex is back to rising at 5:00 am to do milking and feeding the new Mommy and tending the calf and again in late afternoon. We will be getting a new Aryshire in a few days. With so much milk we need to feed it out. Waste not, Want not! I LOVE Life on Our Farm, its so layed back, quiet and even with allergies the hay smells soooo sweet. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Thank you for the warm welcome! Its been quite crazy around here this past week. For 4 out of 7 days our grazers decided the grass was greener on the other side of the fence. Obviously they are color blind...I cannot remember the last time we had rain, yes, it has been that long. And the grass is quite brown on the other side of that fence, which they find out but continue to "break out" in the cool evening hours. My Son finds them down the road in the wee hours of the mornings wandering around and visiting the neighbors. He rises very early these days to check on Twizzler, I know what a name for a cow but its his favorite candy, who is due to freshen anytime now. She is a First Calf heifer so we are just a bit nervous about where she could drop this calf because it could be quite the trek to get them all back home safe and sound. Very soon it will be milking again both ends of the day. Keeps a young man busy and teaches responsibility and compassion. Oops the thunder is starting to roll, time to sign off...Have a wonderful evening!
