  Silkies
Yeah, they are Silkie chickens and a joy to watch. Nice shot of your horse. Looks happy! My daughter loves to ride also. Someday we will have enough property for a couple horses and maybe some goats. I love goats but can't have them on our small quarter acre. We just got our three large garden boxes filled with dirt. Any tips on growing a great garden?

THanks very much for commenting on my page. I am a very big advocate for eating fresh local and helping farmers. The biggest component is if every Healthcar facility would buy local and fresh we would make a big dent in sustainibility in this country. healthcare has the biggest buying power.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the pictures!
We do have quite a few and with digital photography it is so nice to be able to take as many as you want and just keep the ones that work! I have pictures of creatures on 3 continents in my collection, but the majority are of sheep! LOL

If you enjoy the pictures, come visit us at our big website www.wall2wallsheep.com and if you check under the Articles tab, you can also read the HOBBY FARM HOME Jan/Feb 2013 article and see the pictures in case you missed our submission in that issue.

Hope you & your family are having a great Easter! Lorna

Thanks for visiting us. All our animals are really tame as you could see in our photo. Love the horse, we would love to get one but with the drought we are afraid we wouldn't be able to feed it without it costing us a bunch. Hopefully this drought in OK will end soon!

Come visit me, R L Farm.

  Thanks for the Welcome
Happy holidays from Yummy Tummy Farms, a suburban farm, in San Jose, CA. Kohlrabi is a great under appreciated vegetable, in my opinion, it's great to see that you grow it. I like to use it as vegetable mash, similar to the way you'd mash potatoes or add it to mashed potatoes at a 50-50 ratio. Cheers!

  hogs
usually i just raise seasonal hogs for food and that breed is usually some cross of yorkshire. Although nice to eat they could be a little fatter pig. I like to supplement with acorns for the last month of their life. But i'm sorta tired of the yorkshire breed so a cousin of mine and myself decided to go to a heritage cross Berkshire,Tamsworth, and Large Black. I hope it pays off. i use to believe getting the most for money was the only way. And now i understand that its not always the best idea and quality has become just as important.
