MY FARM

The Barton Family Farm from taswell, IN
The Barton Family Farm

Farm Name: The Barton Family Farm

Year Farm Established: 2010

Location: Taswell, IN

Years I’ve been farming: 4 years

Animals I raise: St. Croix sheep, chickens, ducks, geese.

Crops I grow: Corn, just about any vegetable and working on our orchard this year.

Hobbies I enjoy: Planting flowers, making soap and cheese, and teaching my little ones all about country living.

The proudest moment on my farm: When my daughter planted her very own "fairy garden" she took care of it all year by herself. At four she has wisdom far beyond her years.

Pets: Cats...lots of cats. And about any stray that passes through.

Farm Motto: Family, Love, and a little extra in everything we do makes it all possible. Oh and No Farms No Food.

  hello from Akin Bak Farm
Hi, I am new to farm profiles. I just saw your profile. Was wondering if you could send along some insights into making soap. We are going to buy some goats and are contemplating making soap with their milk. I love your farm motto, Family and love are definitely the most important things in a well lived life.

  Flowers and Food
Today I cooked like a mad woman, my husband so enjoyed my culinary endeavors he brought me home flowers! For breakfast I made French Toast with Maple/Cinnamon Syrup, Egg and Ham Scramble, and fresh squeezed OJ. Lunch was Buffalo/Ranch Turkey Grilled Cheese on fresh baked bread, with Carrot Fritters with Cream Cheese Garlic and Chive dip, and apple slices. Then for supper I made a huge pot of Meatballs with my homemade Spicy Marinara sauce and fresh Mozzerella Cheese, Homemade garlic bread, fried green beans, with Chocolate Cake for dessert. A good day it was.

  Old Man Winter.
I'm not sure about anyone else but I for one am so ready for winter to be over already. Hubby is busy preparing for our greenhouse, and I am pouring through seed catalogs, and going through my seeds from last year. Thinking about hitting the cold boxes next week....ahhh...I am ready for spring!
