Thanks for stopping by my farm.:) Yes, tthe Highlands are wonderful. Very docile and provide rich milk and lean meat. Plus, just stunning to look at with the long horns and long shaggy hair. We love em. I must agree with all the other post, that is about the "CUTEST" pic I have seen on Hobby Farm yet :) Stop back anytime. Have a great farming day!! Come visit me, A&E FARMS.

P2 (our son) will show his silver laced wyandottes that he just received a wk ago for the 2014 show season. His hens are pure breeds except for Princess Pea who is a buttercup & ameraucana, who our son did not sell. He lets his flock go thorugh a hatching season once or twice a year. But rather us buy him a box or two each year to raise up. We will hopefully have a litter of pigs on the ground in March. We will be taken our livestock sponsored barrow off next week to the slaughter house for them. I'm oh so glad snow doen't stay long on the ground where we live.Come visit me, The Homestead.

Hi there! The steers in this picture are Jerseys. The breed isn't the most common to be used for oxen because they don't get huge, but the boys seem to be doing alright and they're still going to get a lot bigger. As for the pigs, we just had a Tamworth boar visit to breed our two Yorkshire/Hampshire sows. Can't wait to check out both of your sites, and if anyone has any oxen training tips I would love any that I can get.Come visit me, Abilee Farm.
