How early can you tell if a chick is a roster?
I have four new chicks (approx. two weeks old, maybe a little more), 2 Americanas and 2 Buff Brahmas. All four are happy & healthy. One of the Americanas is noticeably larger than the others, and a bit bossy. This morning I went to check on them and it started making a weird, drawn out chirp. Almost like the beginning stages of crowing. Could this be a sign the chick is a roster? I've had laying hens, but this is my first time raising chicks.
