Welcome to Hobby Farms and good luck with all your farming endeavors. Cute farm name! Sounds like you have thought thru the meat groups. Maybe it would be more cost efficient to have your cows bred thru someone else instead of keeping your own bull?...just a thought.

  Counting the years
At least 6 years before we can both retire and get to farming. We have 24 acres with a small pond and the barn ( to be painted red). We also have three flat acres where the house is. We wanted to be a hobby/ self sufficient farm. We are thinking 2 cows and a bull ( milk and meat), two chicken coops ( one for eggs, one with a roster for meat) at least 10 chicken (5 each), 5 goats (milk, meat, soap, cheese, lotion, etc), two pigs ( meat), 3 horses. Any suggestions about space. I think argot plenty, but want to hear other opinions. We will be planting, but on the 3 acres by the house.

Come visit me, Pala.
