Hobbies I enjoy: Life leaves no time for hobbies so I just make my hobby my life, and life my hobby!I enjoy the work,...most of the time,...and the rush I get from learning a new skill or dusting off my hands as I survey a finished task...and a job well done.

Club/Associations memberships: Maremma Sheepdog Club of America

The proudest moment on my farm: When we learn of a homestead flock or herd that has been protected by one of our Maremma predator control dogs, or a farm client who has returned to health by utilized a diet of whole foods ---raised by our homestead!

Pets: Livestock can be dangerous so we make it a special point to make sure that all animals raised by us are well handled, and those raised by others are soon gentled by our interaction and management.

Farm Motto: Ecologically sound predation control and management.

We have been taking in unwanted horses. We have one stud sired by my old stud which I brought with me to PA way back in 1987 and reluctantly sold a few years later. I have missed him so much, and recently was offered his son. His paint son, lol. I've never owned a paint before, but he's his sire all over again except for the wall to wall white splashes. I have to keep reminding myself that he's not his sire, and that he's already 5 years of age and had no handling to speak of, other than halter breaking. We've solved his trailer fears, now we are working on his water phobia. He's settled in quite nicely here already. http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/homesteadinglif- estyle/photos/albums/1567682740/lightbox/116828190- 3

  Well that is good advice!
I have always made a habit of staying clear of his machines... then I don't have to do the job... like you said.... just do it once and it is yours!!!

Hey if you are interested I can ship a pup almost anywhere! : )

At least they adjusted the years farming from saying you are this old... they got several emails from me then the Urban farm editor emailed me and I told her about that... that it said that you were so many years old! LOL

  Years I've been Farming?
I wonder why it keeps saying 26? That's how long we've been here at this same location. I was born and grew up on a ranch in a ranching/farming family so it's been my lifestyle and I haven't ever been able to live any other way. Oh well, guess folks don't really need to know exactly how old I am anyway!

Welcome to Hobby Farms. Sounds like you have a wonderful farm and life. Kudos to you for improving the lives of others with your farming knowledge. Where are you actually located? I use to raise dairy goats in Florida years ago and am hoping to have goats here in Maine by next Summer.....have been seriously considering Angora Goats.....any sage advice?
