  October 2013
Were having a blast this fall, full of work and benefits. The siding is 95% complete and windows are installed, insulation blown in and let me tell ya, the house is first of all way more quite but noticeably warmer.
We are prepping for a harvest party and being from the northwest we're making fresh cider from an entire bin of apples we are getting from my uncle who transports fruit all year. The rest will be party favors, I just today picked up an entire bin of pumpkins and squash with a ton of corn stalks for decorations and after the party it will all be used as feed.
Also an addition to the farm is our new Angus heifer and 4 rescue lop rabbits , our heifer is 6 months old and 530lb! (Makes my little Jersey boy....look little) So with winter coming on I started also building a shelter for the cows, because I have nothing else going on lol.
On a tastier side we got our 1st pig back from the butcher and no joke best pork ever! We'll best of luck to all who's trying to live the good life, and hopefully I'll get some more pictures up soon.

Im too warm and Im too cold
Just finished pulling off 3 generations of siding from our 1950s farm house that has had 3 add ons and still no insulation!!!
My first power bill here was $458, I almost lost it. That was the middle of December and now this summer the bill finally dropped to $350 avarage!!!
So finally were in the process this week to cutting holes shooting in insulation and re-siding the house. Were going with board and batten siding.
Ill keep you all posted on the progress

Come visit me, 5A Family Farm.
