  Long winter
Well it's been awhile since I checked in. the hoop house didn't protect the lettuce, going to see if I can get a early start with it this spring.

had great weather today, got out and worked in the garden. Started opening up the new area, and getting the old site into raised beds, with wood chips between the beds

Anybody know how to post pictures in the blog area?

  Checking in
Had another hard frost, thursday, suppose to freeze this coming tuesday. We will see how well the hoop houses protect the greens. Speaking of greens, my lettuce is coming up, this will be a good test, tender young lettuce just coming up, and mid 20's for over night temps.

  I've got garlic!!!
My garlic is coming up, if all goes well I will have a bunch of garlic next summer,,,, can't wait. FInished my second low hoop cold frame. After trying three different models I think the PVC hoops will be the best choice. Have them covering some lettuce, broccoli, and cauliflower. seeing how late I can grow veggies. Wish I had some kale going to see how that does in our winters, under a cold frame.

  More rain
Well it's been raining for the last couple days. One thing for sure the part of my garden where I have already laid down the wood chips sure looks a lot better than the part that hasn't. Just need to get another ten truck loads of chips, some dry weather and a ton of sweat putting them on the rest of it and will be ready for next spring.

  Rainy days
Thanks for the comment Animal place, called Bee Catcher because of the Bee Catcher birds that stay around here during the summer months. Cool birds that like to hang out around my garden area and eat anything that flies.

Started my worm composting bin today, nothing fancy just two plastic totes one inside the other, with holes in the bottom and top for drainage and ventilation.

  Second post
Ok, I see now. Well just a quick overview. I've made up my mind I'm going to be a full time "farmer" in the next five years. My goal is to have a booth at the local farmers market next year, selling veggies, eggs and farm/country related framed photographs. From there I will start to adjust, grow and learn until I can go full time as my primary income coming from on farm activities.
