Flower and Garden Shows: Making the Most of Your Trip

Visiting one of any one of our nation’s premier flower and garden shows takes some careful planning.

Here are a few tips for making the most of your trip to a flower or garden show.

  • Most of the larger flower shows sell tickets in advance; buying early is always a good idea.

  • Some shows even offer discounts for tickets purchased online versus at the box office.

  • Weekend tickets may cost more than weekday.

  • Often members of sponsoring organizations get free admission or pay a discounted rate.

“Keep in mind that you can see most of these shows in half the time if you come during the evening hours, since most of our bus tours come during the day,” says Philadelphia Flower Show designer Sam Lemheney.

“Make it a night out. Don’t feel like you have to see these shows only during the day.”

And one final piece of advice: Don’t forget to wear comfortable walking shoes--you’ll be covering a lot of ground!
