Honda’s 2012 FourTrax Foreman 4x4 ATVs let you work and play hard. This year’s line boasts a brand-new liquid-cooled 475 cc single-cylinder OHV four-stroke engine that’s powerful enough for taking on extra-tough jobs around the farm. A new fuel-injection system with 36 mm throttle body offers instant throttle response, consistent performance at high altitudes and hassle-free cold-weather starting. The re-engineered rolling chassis features a lighter rear suspension system, incorporating a single, high-quality shock for increased comfort, precision and work capabilities, plus a shorter wheelbase for agile handling and a tighter turning radius. With a variety of configurations, there’s a Foreman model to suit everybody.

Whether you’re monitoring livestock or clearing snow, the Bobcat 3450 UTV lets you do more work more quickly. The 24.8-horsepower diesel engine and maximum travel speed of 30 mph allow you to quickly haul tools, materials and people, while the flip of a switch allows you to select from single-wheel, two-wheel and four-wheel drive to best match driving conditions. Complete your chores in comfort with lower sound levels, two-passenger bucket seating, and optional dealer-installed cab and heater. The 3450 meets all of your farm needs with up to five front-mounted attachments, all of which use Bobcat’s RapidLink attachment-mounting system. Choose from a bucket, pallet fork, mower, snow blade or whisker push broom.

A semi-flat ISO-mounted platform puts rubber bushings between the platform and the frame for a smoother, quieter ride. A molded rubber floor mat provides traction and helps further reduce vibration. John Deere’s new 1 Series of subcompact tractors offers features that are usually seen on larger utility tractors. The new 1023E (23.5 horsepower) and 1026R (25.2 horsepower) can accept dozens of attachments and implements, including front-end loaders, mower decks, rotary tillers and a backhoe. With AutoConnect technology, operators simply drive over the top of the mowing deck to attach it to the tractor, while iMatch AutoHitch-compatible implements can be attached to or removed from the tractor’s three-point hitch without the operator ever leaving the seat. Both tractors have a wide stance for increased stability and a standard folding ROPS. The 1026R also features a deluxe lighting system, cruise control, tilt steering, a toolbox, a 12-volt outlet and a position control three-point hitch.

New Holland’s Boomer compact tractors are designed with the hardworking hobby farmer in mind. Ranging from 28 to 47 horsepower, the new Boomers are powered by quiet, fuel-efficient four-cylinder engines. A sloped hood provides outstanding visibility, which is further enhanced by a lighting package that illuminates both the front and sides for safer, more productive work in low-light conditions. In addition to the rear PTO, a mid PTO for mid-mount mowers is available. Boomer buyers have the choice of a smooth, synchronized gear transmission or a three-range hydrostatic transmission with two-pedal actuation. A flat deck, adjustable high-back seat and tilt steering column provide comfort, while a one-piece hood that lifts on a gas strut makes maintenance a snap.

The Branson 20R series brings convenience to the hobby farm with five models ranging from 31 to 55 horsepower. The front brush guard folds flat for a convenient worktable to use while working on and around the tractor. The control valve is repositioned to the upper side of the fender for easy access. A toolbox located on the side is standard on all models. The 20R series is also designed for easy maintenance: The hood boasts a conveniently located release latch and suspension-support spring shocks, while a bracket has been added for easy access to clean the radiator screen.

Kubota’s L3200 and L3800 compact tractors, the newest additions to the L-Series, offer small-farm owners deluxe styling and performance while still remaining economical. Available in two- and four-wheel-drive models, the L3200 and L3800 deliver 31.9 and 37.4 gross horsepower, respectively. Both models come equipped with either a gear-drive or three-range hydrostatic transmission and an ample 10-gallon fuel tank. Equipped with a three-point hitch with a large-capacity hydraulic pump, these models provide power lifting for a range of implements; Kubota’s LA524 quick attach/detach front loader and BH77 backhoe, in particular, are performance-matched with the L-series tractors.
