Castrating a Lamb

I am glad this site exists. It is great. My husband and I raise Katahdin sheep, (only enough for our own use). I have a real problem with the ear tag law that has recently been imposed. Last week we took a lamb to the abbatoir with tag in hand. He made us punch a tag in the ear even though the lamb was to be butchered the next morning. I am disgusted that we as humans continue to inflict unecessary pain on our farm animals for no reason. This is a really stupid law. So that's my issue. I also think that banding lambs for castration falls into the same category. You should try it!
