How to Ply Yarn

Fiber artist Dianne MacDonald walks you through the basics of yarn plying.

Plying yarn is a skill every fiber artist should know, whether working with the fiber from the beginning of the shearing process or using fiber from other people’s animals. By making a plied yarn, you create a material that is thicker, stronger and more balanced for your knitted or crocheted garments.

Watch the video above as fiber artist Dianne MacDonald from Kentucky guides you through this simple and soothing process.

Donna, I desperately need a project. I just fractured my left femur and will be off it totally for 12 weeks. I will pay postage. Thanks so much, Karen

Couldn't view the video as it just kept running..but was wondering if anyone would be interested in raw wool? I have 6 bags (shortly there will be 9)from my triplets (Old English Southdown Babydolls) & I can't find anyone here in my area of TN that spins including some Amish neighbors I asked. Just email me if interested.
