Cinnamon Cherry Muffins

Brighten up a traditional muffin recipe by adding fresh cherries from your orchard tree.

Yield: 18 to 20 muffins

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup chopped cherries (pitted and quartered)

Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, and grease muffin tin.

In medium-sized bowl, mix flour, baking soda and baking powder.

In separate large mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter. Stir in eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon and Greek yogurt. Stir in dry ingredients. Fold in chopped cherries.

Fill muffin cups about 3/4 full of batter. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, until muffin tops are slightly golden and toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
