I’m sitting on the patio right now. Laptop on my lap, lemonade to my left, dogs at my feet, chickens picking nearby and my son ‘harvesting’ all the dandelions he can hold.
Asparagus beetles! The adults are munching on the spears and I suspect that, as evidenced by the other activity they are currently participating in, there will be lots of eggs there soon, too.
All the wisteria here is blooming now, and it’s fairly spectacular.
The apples are just about the last fruit trees to bloom in the garden, and they’ve finally started flowering.
My daffodils and tulips are pretty much finished blooming and are being replaced by lots of blooming perennials, especially in my shade gardens.
Today is Earth Day. Around here it seems that everyday is Earth Day—as it should be everywhere in my book. I think most gardeners feel that way.
Last Sunday was Palm Sunday, so I went with my wife to the local blessing of the palm fronds down on the bay.
We had a great time walking the aisles of the greenhouses enjoying the Easter flowers and checking out all the water plants.
One of my favorite things about life in Italy is the different rhythm of my life here.
