Carole Howell

After 22 years of writing healthcare stories in the corporate world, Carole Howell left the city life to live and work on her 30-acre family farm in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. Along with her husband, Bill; her father; and a little help from a neurotic hound named Marv, she tends a muscadine vineyard year-round, makes homemade wine in the fall, harvests blueberries in the summer, and tends a vegetable garden. In her spacious country kitchen, she has even taken her first wobbly steps canning pickles and making jelly.
