David Gunawan is the chef and owner of Farmer’s Apprentice and Grapes & Soda. Now the acclaimed chef is planning on opening a farm-to-table restaurant in Vancouver’s financial district called Royal Dinette, in partnership with the Donnelly Group. The restaurant will be a “causal and playful new restaurant that honors Gunawan’s trademark local, sustainable and seasonal approach to dining,” The Georgia Straight reports.
Patrons looking for farm-fresh meals will be able to enjoy just that at Royal Dinette. The restaurant will serve lunch on weekdays. There will also be happy hour, dinner and late-night menus available Monday through Saturday. Part of that menu, according to The Georgia Straight, will include a butcher station, fresh pasta and a pastry station.
“At Royal Dinette, we’re not only bringing the concept of seasonality and true farm-to-table cuisine to downtown Vancouver,” Gunawan stated, The Georgia Straight reports, “but we’re also aiming to engender a new awareness in our guests about food itself—how it is produced, sourced, prepared and ultimately served.”
Royal Dinette, located at 905 Dunsmuir Street, will include a dining room, outdoor patio, chef’s table and bar with enough room for 80 people.
